I've noticed the glock really likes armscor 115gr. Targets are starting to look like this more often than not Two more malfs to log, again with winchester forged. These were rounds that had been laying under my bed in a cardboard box for like a year. I like this gun.

    Colt pocket positive

Not sure I'd want to mess with a colt revolver without laying hands on it first. Of the big 3 (Colt, S&W, Ruger) common revolver brands, Colts will generally be the first to develop timing issues, and very few gunsmiths are capable of working on them. The worst part is a short drop can often knock them out of time. I've seen some *absurdly* out of time Colts.

    Colt pocket positive

6 rounds double action, 12 rounds single action 6 rounds single action. It hits low left

    Colt pocket positive

It's been sitting in a gun sock for a few decades. From what I gather, it was bought at a gun show a long time ago. You can pretty easily find spots where the nickle is flaking, but its not bad, and the internals are clean. It's brought out my inner 40's mobster, I've probably said "gat" and "roscoe" at least 30 times 😂

Just spit balling, anywhere from 1905 to 1937 i think. When i get to spend some more time with it I'll see what colts historical guys can dig up

    Henry - U.S. Survival AR-7

An armalite version is on the short list, but for practical use, the henry is where its at. The AR7 has had quite an interesting life; I highly recommend checking out These guys if you plan on shooting it a lot

    TPS M6 Survival Rifle - 22LR/410

Looks good. I got to play with an original one awhile ago, in the original .22 hornet/.410. It was pretty cool. I honestly felt the m4 was a bit more practical, as far as i could tell with various "reproductions"

Of happenings! I think im about at 8.5k. The finish is peeling from the slide stop

    Brad's BOB

Looks pretty good. I'd ditch the p38 for a p51 or FRED. *Much* better to use. The only things I'd really add would be more water and an IFAK

    Recent acquisition thread

Well built, pockets are well thought out, doesn't scream gun bag, keeps things kinda dry. Got the gamut for like 60$, so i was already smitten

north of 7k? Managed to get a malfunction. Was shooting a mix of winchester USA forged (aka garbage) and brass speer lawman. A round of winchester fired, but failed to extract, and the gun tried to feed another round. Not surprised it was with this ammo, but I'm impressed with how long it took to get a malf.
  13. I'm putting money towards an M1 garand from the CMP
  14. I prefer to just cut them up and fry them, nice and hot, though these are noticeably less hot than years past
  15. Apparently a jalapeno plant has decided to appear out of nowhere

    G19X

i hit 5k this last weekend. Not a single malfunction, not a single issue. Only things changed on the gun were the sights (i got some ameriglo agents) and I've slightly knocked down the trigger dingus. Not all of the 5k were mine though. I've let about 15 or so people handle and sometimes shoot it. Pretty much everyone has walked away impressed. I know of at least 4 people who bought one after shooting mine. I've also gotten a chance to play with a G45. Its nice, but i still prefer the 19x. If you think the 19x is a bit too expensive, or some other feature is just not for you, the 45 is a great option if you're looking for a commander style Glock I've read a bit and the consensus is that this is just a limited edition, and i really do hope that isn't the case. This is a great handgun, and I think glock would do well with having a permanent higher end line with things like the 19x, and more tricked out versions of the 34, 17L, and perhaps a 19x version of the 46? Or maybe just the 46 in general? Pretty please?

    Hi yall

Eh, thats part of small forums, especially ones where you've got convoluted topics like prepping But hey, I'm here!
  18. Funny, one chicken (not sure which) has graced us with eggs. Small, but they're eggs. Weather, temp, etc all can determine if a hen will lay. Once they start, they tend to keep going (for a while), but it took ours a long time to start, even then, i think only one hen is laying

    G19X

2500, no issues. I do wany to show a few more things about the gun. It has a recessed crown, so any damage done is less likely to effect accuracy Slide stop is thicker than on previous gens, and engages the slide on both sides. Texture is the same as gen 4 guns, but thanks to the absence of the finger grooves, it feels like I'm able to get a much better hold of the gun The wire and leaf spring are gone. Everything is a coil spring. Coil springs are much more durable The nPVD coating is amazing. That is all. If you want, you can run a gen 4 slide on the 19x, and vice versa, all you need to do is swap the end plates. All the controlls on both guns work, thought the trigger on the 19x framed gun wont be as nice, and the slide will rquire a bit of wiggling to slide on

    Mossberg 590A1

Based off the Mossberg 500, the 590A1 has a number of features that were requested by the military, including a metal safety, and trigger group, heavy walled barrel, and bayonet lug. This isn't an upland game gun, with 9 shells of 00 buck (the gun has an 8 round tube, and can hold 1 in the chamber) the thing weighs around 10 pounds, or about 4.5 kilos. Various models exist, and can have different barrel lengths, different stocks and fore ends, different trigger and saftey packs, and different sights. This particular one has the standard polymer furniture, 8+1 capacity, 20" barrel, and ghost ring sights. Like most new pumps, the action is rather stiff, and will require working in, as will the mag tube, filling it up amd letting it sit for a day or two often fixes this. Whichever barrel you get, 20, 18.5, or 14, the barrel will have a cylinder choke, which is to say it is a perfect cylinder. Should you want to thread it for chokes, the barrel is more than thick enough to handle it. The stock is compatible with other Mossberg stocks, so if you don't like what you've got, it's easy to fix. The polymer on the stock is nice and thick, and has a really nice recoil pad, but the stock is LLLLOOOONNNNGGGG. a 14.25" length of pull can make the gun quite the pain to use, many replacement options exist. The shotgun has a 3 inch chamber, so you have a good variety of loads to pick from. It should be noted, depending on the shell length and crimp type, capacity will also be effected. The ghost ring sights are very nice, the rear is adjustable for elevation, and the front can be drifted for windage. You can get tritium front sight blades if you wish. The finish is a nice grey phosphate, the regular 500's and 590's are blued, recievers (aluminum) are anodized. I was only able to run 75 rounds of low brass #8, but aside from action stiffness, the gun ran perfect. As i continue to use this gun, i will update this thread.

    Mossberg 590A1

So i shot the A1 some more yesterday, all 2 3/4 inch, no magnum stuff. Shot some dupleks and federal tru ball low recoil, plus some #1 buck flite control, and some birdshot. Cycled the safey probably a hundred times since then, hopefully it holds up.
  22. Didn't do a garden, but do have chickens. No eggs. None. Zip, zilch, zero.
  23. Current EDC G19X in an alien gear, kershaw leek, wallet, phone spare 19 round mag. I still carry a G2X, but its AWOL at the moment I also have this with me on road trips Vertx gamut (i love this bag) Front pocket has 2 33 round mags Pocket above it has a sof-t wide TQ Main pocket flap has a Kershaw leek, tube of TW-25b, and a 19 round mag, foam earplugs, a boo boo kit, and a rite in the rain notepad Cavity has an IFAK set up exactly like the one on my battle belt, but with an extra TQ stufffed in there, an otis 9mm cleaning kit, glock knife, that glock arm brace thing, and a spare change of clothes. I often keep my nikon d3400 in here, along with a 3l camelbak. I'll also usually throw in my nintendo switch. Its charging now, so no pics. Other pocket holds a spare nikon battery and charger, and and SD card case, and a TLR-1hl Side pockes have a 17 round mag each. The right one also has some medical shears, cords for electonics, and 3 fisher space pens. Left one has a black sharpie and a power core There are some elastic pockets on the outside of the side pockets. The right one has a USB solar charger, the left one has a few MRE matchbooks, and a lot of MRE toilet paper. I have a streamlight sidewinder on the right strap It has a lot of ammo with it, mainly because I've ran into some really cool ranges on road trips. The armbrace thing is because sometimes, that nice hotel doesn't turn out to be so nice, so it's nice to get a bit more performance out of my carry gun.
